The chimeras were victims of secret government experiments on young, orphaned children who attempted to find a new way for humans to grow stronger through the assimilation and fusion of human and monster genes.

From the weakest monsters out there to powerful boss-type monsters, some as strong as S-Rank They were all used as materials for this experimentation that mixed both genetic science and the new source of power, magic.

They were born through experiments. Having lost the memories of who they used to be, this group of children, the few dozen that survived among the hundreds that perished by these experiments, felt like they didn't belong in this society.

And Scarlet could still clearly remember those times; they were horrible. The tortures, the smiles of the scientists, how they used her as a mere tool for their wicked experiments, how much they transformed her... until she could no longer remember the faces of the nuns in the orphanage she came from.

The bright, blinding light of the experimentation rooms, the white walls, the plastic and metallic smell of the tools they used on her... The dizziness that their drugs caused in her body. The times when she couldn't even feel her own body anymore.

She and all those within the Dawn of a New World went through similar things. None of them were actually related by blood, but they became sworn brothers.

Heisenberg resolved not to be abused any longer. He employed his strength and destroyed the laboratory, utilizing the very chimeric power the scientists gave him, and freed the other survivors.

It was that day that she learned about freedom and about the power she held. No matter how many times they chased against them, together they fought against many odds and destroyed their foes, and once they finally gave up, they hid in society, in the shadows.

While the rest of her friends, whom she cared deeply for, stayed the same, with their grudges against all of this society of weaklings and over a revenge they couldn't properly fulfill with a near-indestructible government protected by Hunters, she slowly changed.

Perhaps her memories resurfaced, or perhaps her personality was always like this, but Scarlet was much different than the rest. While they embraced their monstrosity and became loathsome against everything else, she embraced society and mixed with humans really easily.

She hunted monsters and became a hunter herself, mostly as a way to infiltrate society for Heisenberg at first, but later on, she learned to enjoy being "a person.".

With her amazing talents, she gained fame, she saved lives, and her name became widespread. She was constantly employed by other guilds and cities to protect them and destroy dungeons.

Without realizing it, through these years she spent living a double life as a hunter, Scarlet ended up becoming so different from her former friends, despite the similar hardships they shared, that she started to feel that they were wrong.

No matter how hard she tried to hide it, she couldn't help but find what they believed in and what they desired to be wrong. Killing innocent people just because they were weak? It felt wrong to her. Desiring to reform the world by destroying all of society? It felt strange—not something she would ever do.

She quickly realized she had become the "stranger" and that, as she spoke more with people, she gained new friends and even fell in love with a young, brave man with a dark past and a strong heart; she never belonged with them.

And now that she was going to let those she actually cared for and loved get killed horribly, she could no longer hold back anymore. She didn't want to fight against them; she kept trying to convince herself that they weren't monsters, that they were redeemable, and that if she talked to them, things could be different.

But she was wrong. None of them ever took her words seriously, and none of them ever believed whatever she ever spoke about. And nobody within their group cared for her either.

They only cared about fulfilling their goals. And for Heisenberg, he was merely a tool to accomplish them, much like everyone else, even his "little sister," Annabelle.

If even little Annabelle had realized this sooner, why couldn't she?

"Tch…!" Scarlet gritted her teeth as the power of her Blood Magic suddenly weakened greatly, allowing Anna to evade Roy's attack!

CLASH!

"W-What?! Scarlet! Why did you lower the strength of your magic?!" Roy immediately realized this. "Don't tell me…! YOU TOO?! Are you going to betray us after everything we've gone through?!"

While Roy screamed in utter frustration, Violet and Snow appeared behind him, immediately attacking him with their powerful skills. Violet unleashed a mighty barrage of slicing attacks with his huge scythes, while Snow unleashed a powerful Blizzard! With Violet's slicing blows piercing through his half-materialized body, Roy felt his body slightly shatter into pieces, right before the wave of cold winds froze half of it!

"Ungh?! Dammit! You **ing monsters!" Roy cried in fury, his jaws opening wide in the middle of his stomach.

A devastating beam of pure demonic energy and darkness emerged from within, blowing Violet and Snow away with a huge explosive blast.

BOOOM!

"{Odin's Eye}! {Heaven Piercing Divine Spear}!"

"{Glacial Wolf's Claws}! {Frost Wyvern's Breath}!"

"{Spider Queen's Abyssal Claws}! {Arachnid Familiar Swarm}!"

"{Sunshine Blade Rain}! {Starlight Sword}!"

Kevin, Dan Baihe, and Annabelle attacked Roy at the same time, bringing out their strongest techniques and skills possible!

Kevin unleashed the power of his Odin's Eyes, making him incredibly fast for a few minutes while conjuring all the divine might that Gungnir held within it. A barrage of incredibly fast blows rained upon Roy; his slimy and half-physical body constantly shifted between phases, being destroyed more and more!

Dan Baihe kept freezing Roy's body with her powerful Ice Magic Skills, which summoned and transformed her Ice Ki and Mana Auras into gigantic and sharp Glacial Wolf's Claws and the head of Frost Wyverns, releasing mighty and freezing breaths!

Annabelle utilized her sharp and huge claws and the power of her spider familiars, bringing them all out, fused with her powerful demonic aura, and overwhelming Roy with their bites and attacks, which then exploded into powerful darkness magic explosions.

And lastly, Anna destroyed Roy by mixing her magic with her sword techniques, summoning dozens of blades made out of sunlight and firing them at him, causing huge explosions. At the same time, her two swords swung together, mixed with a small bit of Cosmic Energy, which generated huge slashing waves that resembled stars themselves.

Roy could barely believe that he was being overwhelmed to this point. His entire body started desperately absorbing the floor itself, shapeshifting and mixing with the surroundings, shaking the streets, and reemerging as a monstrous mix between whatever he found and his own slimy body.

"I'LL KILL YOU ALL!!! Especially you… SCARLET! FILTHY TRAITOR!"

Several red eyes opened across his gigantic, over thirty-meter body as dozens of beams of demonic and dark energy were fired at once, alongside hundreds of acid bullets.

"Uuaargh…!"

"Urgh!Dammit!"

"Does this bastard never die?!"

Anna's team desperately retreated while trying to evade the destructive attacks coming from Roy's body—something certainly hard to achieve when his body grew so huge.

The surrounding area became a complete battlefield as the buildings started being destroyed and the streets were shaken and broken apart.

However, they weren't completely alone on this.

"I'm sorry, Roy, but I… simply cannot keep pretending to be like you!" Scarlet cried. "Maybe we share a similar past, but I cannot bring myself to do the monstrosities all of you want to do! {Blood Tempest}!!!"

Scarlet finally attacked, summoning an enormous tornado made of blood and scarlet wings, which quickly captured Roy within, stopping his devastating attacks!

"SCARLET! YOU DAMN… BITCH! I ALWAYS HATED YOUR STUPID FUCKING FACE!!!"

Roy broke through the magical attack, part of his body suddenly shaping into a huge spear-like form and materializing into a metallic physical form.

"I'm sorry, ROY!" Scarlet cried, genuinely feeling guilty for taking this decision, even though she knew it was the right one for her. "{Demonic Abyssal Blood Blade: Alucard}!"

By gathering her mighty Magic Power and the Divine Power of her Constellation together, a beautiful red blade made out of the materialized Blood Ki she possessed emerged, shining brightly with an intimidating scarlet and black aura.

CLAAASH!

Her mighty sword clashed against Roy's Venomous Metal Spear, only for the spear to instantly gain cracks and shatter apart! Roy not only felt his attack was completely overwhelming, but he also felt his own life being drained away as he noticed several red-colored runes spreading across his slime-like body.

[The Special Ability of the {Demonic Abyssal Blood Blade: Alucard} has been activated: [Vampiric Drain]!]

The mighty Divine Weapon granted to her by Dracula himself shone brightly as she channeled more of the power given to her by her powerful yet malicious Constellation, the King of all Vampires.

"{Vampiric Sword Arts}: {Blood Wave}! {Scarlet Dance}!"

Scarlet danced in midair while majestically swinging her blade against Roy. The blows were fast and precise, and each swing of the sword released a devastating wave of Blood Ki, hitting Roy for more and more damage.

"Y-You're…?! Since when you became so powerful?!"

Roy was deeply shocked the moment he realized that the woman he had been mocking as "weak" this entire time had long ago become much stronger. In fact, she could even surpass him!

Anna and her friends glanced in awe as Scarlet singlehandedly fought against Roy and started to slowly overwhelm him. With her Eyes of Truth, she quickly noticed that her sword's effects were simply incredible.

"This is amazing… Scarlet's winning!" Kevin said. "I knew she would ally with us instead!"

"But aren't things going too well?!" Dan Baihe asked.

"Roy's a monster that can recover endlessly if he's given the chance…" Anna said, noticing that Roy was sneakily moving closer and closer to the area where the frozen people were as Scarlet attacked him.

He was most likely aiming to devour them all to recover his Health and Strength! She had to kill him quickly before he became even more of a problem.

"While Scarlet's attacking him from the front, let's go behind him! Dan Baihe, you already know the strategy! Freeze him, and we'll chop him down to pieces." Anna said.

"Roger!" Baihe nodded as she moved rapidly across the battlefield while riding Snow, which at the same time made her and the wolf stronger.

Anna flew across the skies while Kevin and Annabelle were carried by Violet, all while Shiro constantly conjured Miracle Magic, enhancing their health regeneration and boosting their stats.

"Scarlet… Hehehe… You're too foolish of a woman!" Roy laughed, suddenly about to engulf all the people behind him.

"Eh?! No, STOP!" Scarlet cried, trying to stop Roy with her Blood Tentacles, but it was too late. Roy's slime acid quickly splashed over the frozen people.

SPLASH!

"BWAHAHAHA! I WILL NOW- Eh?"

However, Roy quickly realized he only ended up drinking water; there were no people there to begin with. In just a flash, Anna had already stored them all inside her Inventory, mostly because they were considered "dead" despite being in a cryogenic state, while Dan Baihe simply left a large quantity of ice everywhere through her passing.

"Did you miss a meal, bastard?" Anna laughed, descending from the skies while her appearance had changed, as she resembled a beautiful half-beast girl, her mighty aura shining as bright as the sun itself, as her small wing temporarily became enormous.

"Y-YOU…!" Roy screamed in frustration, though at this point, it was too late. "UNGH?!"

His liquified body quickly began to freeze, as what he had swallowed wasn't simply ice but specially modified ice crystals that exploded when they were swallowed by his body!

"M-My body's freezing again- Argh!" Roy couldn't even speak properly before half of his body was already frozen solid.

Anna, Annabelle, and Kevin swiftly attacked his frozen body, chopping his frozen pieces apart and weakening him constantly.

"This is your end!" Anna roared. "{Balance Mode}!"

[The [Divine Dragon Slaying Heroic Sword: Reforged Gram] has activated its {Balance Mode}, and all the effects of both the {Celestial Mode} and the {Demonic Mode} have been combined together!]

[Gram shines with the divinity of celestial power and the might of demonic power!]

Like a falling star, Anna descended from the skies while pointing Gram towards the frozen Roy, piercing through all of his body and even damaging his very soul with the might of divine energy!

"T-This… Can't… be…!"
